A Woman's Touch comes to Brighton
Having taken London by storm, the all woman building team at a Woman's Touch is coming to Brighton and the cowboys are quivering in their boots!
A Woman's Touch was formed in 2003 by former investment banker, Kerrie Keeling - who was fed up with the shoddy workmanship, unprofessional attitude and bullying tactics of the builders she had been using. The company is unique, not only for it's female workforce, but for it's business-like approach to all dealings.
"All appointments for estimates are like business meetings - we turn up on time, are polite and courteous, email estimates through the following day, and conduct the work to an extremely high standard, on time and on budget" comments Kerrie. "To be honest these should be the minimum standards any customer can expect, but sadly in the building trade we are a very rare commodity".
The trades-women all have hand-held computer phones so they can easily stay in touch with customers and colleagues alike, by email or by phone, and at the end of every day on site the provide you with a full update on progress. There is a fleet of beautifully clean vans, covered in company logos, and even a couple of small smart cars used by the estimators to nip through the traffic, park easily and minimise the company's carbon footprint - something Kerrie is passionate about.
The talented team can offer a multitude of services from loft and basement conversions, architectural services to general property maintenance, which includes bathrooms and kitchens, plumbing, tiling, carpentry, decorating, plastering and electrical work. A Woman's Touch work closely with interior designers, Poised to Move, to offer a true end to end service for the Brighton market.
Kerrie's achievements have not gone unnoticed - she was awarded the NatWest Businesswoman of the Year award in 2006 and was runner-up in the London Evening Standard Inspirational Business Awards earlier this year. She has been named as a finalist in the O2 Grazia Awards to be announced later this month and was even invited to Buckingham Palace to meet the Queen and Princess Anne at a reception held for prominent women in Business, where guests included Sharon Osbourne and Elle Macpherson.
The long string of highly satisfied customers includes Gordon Ramsay the celebrity chef, and Kerrie adds "the only f word he used was fantastic!"
